Music is one of my real passions in life. Over the years I’ve played electric keyboard, piano, recorder, cello, guitar and bass guitar.
My main baby nowadays is playing bass, specifically, my 6-string Yamaha TRB 1006. I also own a Ibanez 4-string active fretless (with black nylon strings to imitate an upright sound) and a Yamaha F310 acoustic guitar.
My recent projects have included:
I strongly recommend you all check out an artist named Neal Morse, in my opinion, one of the
greatest composers of this century.
Also, if you are interested in what I listen to, check my last.fm account,
which lists what songs I’ve been listening to. A short preview is shown below.

My band whilst I attended The University of Edinburgh
Live at “The Lot“(2005)
Our second gig. We had a fairly short set, so we had to play around with two of the songs, as you’ll hear. I played my fretless bass, before the black nylon strings, and my 5-string.
This was recorded on my iRiver H140 MP3 player, direct from the desk.
Starring: Tim Britton on guitars, Ross Yarrow on keyboards, Zak Cohen on percussion and John Davison on saxophone.
Live at “The Jazz Bar“(2006)
Our fourth gig. We had a bit of a band reshuffle, due to Zak Cohen disapppearing off to the Americas to study for a year at USCD. We also had two guests, Lorna McIver, singing in Summertime, and Graeme Arthur, my aformentioned little brother, a music student at Newcastle. He was drafted in last minute, due to Tim Britton feeling too ill to play, so Graeme trooped up from Newcastle, four hours from the gig, and startedlearning the tunes. Tim had a miracle recovery, so Graeme just played and took solos on The Chicken and All Blues. I used my fretless and 6-string basses for this gig.
This was recorded on my iRiver H140 MP3 player, using 2 off-stage microphones. Sadly, the gain was too high, so it hasn’t come out as well as before, and there is a lot of crowd noise but that’s life I guess.
Starring: Tim Britton on guitars, Ross Yarrow on percussion, Jamie Dow on keyboards and John Davison on saxophone and trombone.
