I use it mostly because it's really cross-platform as I have do develop a lot of small apps for/on Windows. I use it currently as my main VCS (replaced Subversion). It was slow before Version 1.0 but now with a new storage format it's finally fast! IMHO I think it's the DVCS with the best architecture and the most potential. Have you tried Bazaar too?
